Many people find that no matter how hard they work out or how many calories they count, they can’t quite get their body to look the way they want it to. If you want to see increase in muscle tone and a leaner profile, you need to learn more about Emsculpt body contouring.

What is Emsculpt

Emsculpt uses technology similar to an MRI to trigger targeted muscle areas. High intensity electromagnetic energy triggers “supramaximal” contractions. Your muscles contract around 20,000 times in a session—far more than would be possible with any voluntary muscle movement.

The repeated contraction results in strengthening and increase muscle tone—but it also results in fat loss. When the muscles are stimulated so intensely, they signal the fat cells in the area to release fatty acids to ensure that your body has fuel. The fatty acids and emptied fat cells then are metabolized by your body. This means that while your muscles are growing stronger, you will also experience a reduction in fat in the area, adding to your visual results.

What happens during appointments?

Appointments are 30 min long. You will have a minimum of 4 appointments that are at least a few days apart. After the initial 4 sessions, you may do additional sessions if you wish.

EmSculpt is a non-invasive procedure. During each session, you will lie down on your back or stomach (depending on the area you are targeting), the equipment will be positioned appropriately, and then you just wait! You can read or just relax during your appointment, and after it’s complete, you are ready to go home with no expected changes to your routine.

The actual process may feel weird: your muscles are experiencing an intense workout while the rest of your body isn’t moving, which is a strange sensation. However, most users find that after the first few minutes, the strangeness wears off and that each session becomes less noticeable.

What Can I Expect for Recovery?

As a noninvasive treatment with no downtime, you will be able to go home and resume normal daily activities immediately after your treatment is complete. The main side effect is mild soreness—even though it was electronically created, your muscles just worked hard!—and fatigue for a few days, much like you might experience after a tough workout.

How Long Will My Results Last?

It can take a few weeks for full effects to be seen, as it takes time for your body to rebuild stronger muscle and absorb the expelled fatty acids. Once you do see results, they likely won’t be permanent. However, if you participate in an active lifestyle, you have a better chance of maintaining some of the fat loss and muscle tone, which together will help keep your profile.

Many patients also experience improved performance in their physical activities, which can help you to maintain your results in the gym.
